LASER v1.4.1 is now available for download and is issued for mandatory software upgrades for Windows 10. If you do not have the Windows 10 Operating System on your computer, the upgrade to the LASER software v1.4.1 is not mandatory. However the software will continue to remind you that an update is available, please update as time allots. If you are a Windows 10 user, you must download LASER v1.4.1 immediately.
Please note users do not need a previous version of LASER to download or use LASER v1.4.1.
If you are uncertain which configuration of LASER you are currently using, please contact the QTSO Help Desk BEFORE beginning the upgrade/installation process.
For Network Client/Server users:
Note that if you already have the Network Client/Server (v1.3.0) installed at your location and have been using it, you do NOT need to upgrade the server version of LASER at this time. There have been NO changes to LASERServerSetup-1.3.0.exe. So you only need to run the Client version – LASERSetup-1.4.1.exe.
ALL network client applications should be closed when upgrading the server. Upgrade time will vary depending on database size. Once an installation/upgrade has begun users should not cancel or close any of the windows displayed.
ALL LASER client installations should be upgraded to the latest version prior to logging into the application. Failure to comply with these recommendations may result in loss of data.
Users who need to install or upgrade a Network/Client configuration of LASER should:
- Begin by completing a database backup if you are a current LASER user.
- Review the LASER 1.4.0 Installation Guide (note: this guide hasn’t changed with 1.4.1).
- Use the LASERServerSetup-1.3.0.exe.
- Use the LASERSetup-1.4.1.exe to install the LASER Network Client to each workstation.
